You see nothing ahead of you as you make your way East. You think you must be getting close to 500m... [[Continue onward]]

The continuous advances of technology for our own entertainment also caused war time technologies to advance at a rapid rate. We have reached the point of eternal fear of one another. We thought we were lucky that the advancements of technology meant we no longer needed to ever meet in person. We were all able to meet through virtual reality devices and could live our lives through them. Until... well.. you know the rest... Why don't you know any of this? Where have you been? You finally see what must have been the remains of Bunker 041... There is a giant hole with broken pieces of technology filled throughout it. Everything is gone. You feel disappointed that we let technology drive us to destruction... [[Return back to the wooden post|Keep looking]]

You see a familiar tree that was outside of the local school, but no school in sight. You walk closer and find a few virtual reality headsets on the ground. It seems like society has progressed rapidly. You find a few pencils and papers with very messy letters. You think the work was done by a young student. Society must have still felt the need to teach and learn writing even with Virtual Reality headsets. [[Look around the pile of dirt]]

You continue looking around the area and accidently stumble over a thick metal rod. As you fall, an image appears out of the middle of the rod - almost as if it was a hologram. A young person speaks... //"Welcome class to Week 3 Lesson 1 of Year 2 Schooling. Please put on your VR Headsets carefully. Please select the "Mathematics" Classroom Setting and I will see you virtually in a few moments."// You quickly realize that schools have transformed to be a gathering place for children to be supervised while learning digitally. Physical classrooms no longer were a place of learning, only a place for students to stay while parents worked virtually as well. It seems as if society was almost at the point of full digitalization... Technology has progressed to the point in which it has replaced our own abilities... All of us that have been able to survive live in these bunkers... it has been a few years since this has all started... since we all became fearful of just how much technology is capable of... [[What made us fearful?]]

Don't get me wrong, we needed to keep improving upon our technology to thrive as a civilization. Yet, we just didn't know when to stop or what other effects this all would have. We were able to meet virtually with anyone around the world in a space that felt so real... we were in the process of going paperless across all industries as we all moved to using "paper" in the virtual world only... It all just seemed to be so right... [[Ask what caused all of this]]

Politics became involved and these beautiful technological creations were used to create fear. We constantly feared that our once lovely Virtual Assistant Droids would be hacked by another country and turn rogue. We feared that our Virtual Reality Headsets could be hacked and spied on as we conduct our meetings. We learned to fear everything that we had once strived to achieve. We no longer use our Virtual Reality Headsets. We have regressed as a civilization to the point of living as we did in the early 2000s. Looking back now, that was the perfect balance of innovation and safety. We were not reliant on technology, yet appreciated the benefits it brought us. We would give anything to go back.
